A leading construction company located in 6th of October is looking to hire experienced professionals for the Procurement Engineer (Civil & Architectural) position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing & Subcontractor Management: Identify, evaluate, and pre-qualify vendors and subcontractors for civil and finishing packages Maintain an updated, reliable database of suppliers.
- Tendering & Bid Evaluation: Prepare inquiry packages based on approved shop drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQ). Solicit, receive, and perform comprehensive technical and commercial bid evaluations (CBE) to compare offers.
- Negotiation & Cost Optimization: Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, optimize payment terms (minimizing cash outflow), and establish favorable delivery schedules.
- Material Submittal Coordination: Work closely with the technical office to gather and submit material data sheets, samples, and compliance certificates for consultant approval before purchasing.
- Contract Drafting: Draft, review, and finalize purchase orders (POs) and subcontract agreements, ensuring all legal, financial, and technical terms protect the company's interests.
- Supply Chain & Logistics Tracking: Monitor fabrication and shipping schedules of critical materials. Coordinate with site logistics and storekeepers to ensure materials are delivered, inspected, and stored properly on-site without causing delays.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering (essential for reading drawings and understanding technical specifications).
- 7–10 years of solid procurement and purchasing experience in the construction industry (experience with large-scale residential compounds or fast-track commercial projects is highly preferred).
- Strong, professional negotiation and communication skills with a proven track record of reducing procurement costs.
- Expert knowledge of local construction materials, current market prices, and key vendors/subcontractors in Egypt.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel for price analysis and order tracking.
- Solid understanding of contract conditions, payment mechanisms, and logistics.
